Styled Shoot | A 1950's Manhattan Wedding

Photographers Shaina Diaz and Kristina Staal teamed up to dream up this 1950's Manhattan wedding shoot. As the 'togs put it:

"The inspiration for this shoot was to bring the feel of the 1950's Manhattan to today's bride. When planning, we decided to go with a vintage tea length wedding dress, and timeless look for the groom. Pops of red were added for the groom's bow tie, the bride's lipstick, and belt. When planning the pops of red, we were very careful to use them sparingly, so they wouldn't be too bold for the shoot, and would combine well with the soft pastels of the trees.

Central Park in the spring is known for having beautiful, vibrant colored trees, in particular, the cherry blossoms. We wanted to include these in our shoot, and wanted to add a 1950's flair. When we think of 1950's, we think of the bright and bold reds, dainty wedding dresses, and elegant looks.

For our shoot, we wanted to have a storyline of the couple celebrating their marriage in Central Park with their dog, celebratory milkshakes, and finishing the shoot with them leaving for their honeymoon from Grand Central Station with their dog.

When planning this collaboration, our styles meshed well because we both love the romantic feel of light and airy photographs with bright pops of color."
